According to the dictionary physics is the branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. The subject matter of physics, distinguished from that of chemistry and biology, includes mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms.

What that really means is that physics is about asking fundamental questions and trying to answer them by observing and experimenting to determine the answer to the question.    So be prepared to observe, experiment, record information, and discuss results to learn more about the world around us.
